One of the first things I learned as a Christian was that I had no idea what real love was.

The last few days have been pretty wearing on me mentally and emotionally. I started out angry.

I grew up in a small country town. We never had a lot of money, but we never went without either. And even though I’ve never felt it, I know that I’ve lived a very privileged life. Only because I’m white.

So as I’m listening to this sermon about attitude, I was reminded that I recently had a pretty bad one. I was dealing with some emotions that seemed to come out of nowhere and I didn’t exactly try to hide it.

It may not look the way you expected or wanted, but you still made it. And that’s something to celebrate. CONGRATULATIONS!

I don’t really care what the reason for this virus is or how it originated. I trust God to take care of me regardless. But that doesn’t mean I’m not struggling in other ways.

I love the way I feel on New Year’s Eve. Over the past few years, I feel like I’ve looked at the new year with new eyes. Eyes that say, “Anything is possible.”

It makes me sad because even though I initially dreaded the thought of writing something for any and everyone to read, I have come to enjoy it.

When you find yourself in a situation that feels heavy—so heavy that you almost feel hopeless—how do you push through?

I said before that I felt like God has been revealing more and more things in my heart... Well, it’s like He’s doing that in my social life as well.

This scripture brings me such peace about the transition I am in from my current season into my new season.

Most people know that one of the things every little girl dreams of from a young age is to one day marry the man of her dreams and have kids. Well.. I’m no different.

Are you able to look back on your life and see moments in time where God protected you? Well, I can… A lot.

I have to be honest. I don’t feel like I have much to say right now.

That night a month ago, when I was laying in bed reflecting on all of this stuff, I began to see the word “purpose” in a different light.

I always knew God’s Word is living, but I guess I never expected it to come alive like that when I was reading it in chronological order.

I love everything about journals. I love to shop for them. I love to write in them. I love to fill them. I love to look back in them.

I mean, come on, this battle in my heart is over someone’s words! There are far worse things that could be happening. Yet here I am. Tired of fighting. Still trying to heal. Still trying to forgive. Still trying to move on.

Over the last couple of years, I’ve had ideas pop into my head that I thought would make a great story. So I’d write them down and tell myself I would work on it later. Only problem is that I almost never went back to those ideas.

The desire to write came, but I never thought it was a possibility because I had zero experience. I never wrote for school, other than research papers. I never wrote for a school paper. I never wrote little stories for fun at home. Nothing.
